DTN COMMENTS: The country is quiet at midday, and it is likely that
significant trade volume will be delayed until Wednesday or later. Asking
prices are around $114 plus in the South, and $187 plus in the North. So far
not even a token bid has been reported.

NOTE: USDA Daily Direct Summary reports have been delayed. We will report
them as soon as they are made available.

Beef cutouts are higher at midday, especially on select cuts (choice 213.91
+0.64, select 190.30 +1.09) with light to moderate box movement (31.68 lds
of choice cuts, 18.62 lds of select cuts, 6.11 lds of trim, and 9.59 lds of
ground). Cattle futures near midday are mostly lower on both live and feeder
contracts.

NOTE: Feedlots are encouraged to call DTN with any cattle sales, at
1-800-369-7675, ext. 3678. All sales will be listed anonymously and
organized by state. All live sales are FOB and set for 1-9 day delivery.
